25 Hen Party Games Everyone Will Love (With Free Printables)

The right games turn a room of half-strangers into one big group in about ten minutes. Here are 25 of the best hen party games, from gentle icebreakers to cheeky games with your butler, with quick rules for each and free printables for six of them.

A good games plan starts gently and builds. Open with an icebreaker while everyone’s arriving, play a game about the bride once the drinks are flowing, and save the cheekiest for later in the night. Keep each game to 10 or 15 minutes, and stop while everyone’s still laughing.

Six of these games are ready to print. Our free hen party planner includes hen party bingo, Who Knows the Bride Best, Who’s Most Likely To, Never Have I Ever, a night out scavenger hunt and a page of games for your butler, plus a booking countdown and budget planner. Icebreakers: games 1 to 5

Hen groups are often a mix of school friends, work friends and family who have never met. These get everyone talking.

1. Hen party bingo

Give everyone a card and a pen, and tick off each square as it happens through the night: the bride gets a free drink, someone cries happy tears, a stranger says congratulations. The first hen with a full line shouts “I do!”, and the first to fill the whole card wins. Printable: two different bingo cards are in our free planner.

2. Who’s most likely to

Take turns reading out a card, such as “Who’s most likely to lose their phone tonight?” On the count of three, everyone points at the hen who fits best. Whoever gets the most fingers takes a sip or picks a forfeit. Printable: the cut-out cards are in the planner.

3. Two truths and a lie

Each hen shares three facts about herself, two true and one made up, and the group votes on the lie. It’s the quickest way to learn something surprising about everyone, and it works for any age.

4. Guess the baby photo

Ask everyone to send the organiser a baby photo before the hen. Number them, pin them up, and let the group match each photo to a guest. Include the bride’s for an easy win.

5. Speed dating

Sit in two rows facing each other and give each pair two minutes with a question card, then swap. At the end, everyone secretly votes for who they’d give a “second date”. Brilliant for groups who don’t know each other yet.

All about the bride: games 6 to 8

These put the bride in the spotlight and usually produce the best stories of the weekend.

6. Who knows the bride best?

Before the hen, ask the bride twenty questions and keep her answers secret, from her go-to cocktail to who said “I love you” first. On the night, everyone writes down their guesses. One point per right answer, and the top scorer gets the first cocktail. Printable: the question sheet is in the planner.

7. Mr and Mrs

A week before, ask the bride’s partner a list of questions and record their answers, ideally on video. On the night, the bride guesses what her partner said before you play each answer. Every wrong guess means a sip or a forfeit, and the video is usually the highlight.

8. Pass the parcel

Wrap a small gift in lots of layers, with a dare or a question tucked into each one. Play music while it goes round, and whoever is holding it when the music stops opens a layer and does what it says. Make sure the bride ends up with the prize.

Team games: games 9 to 12

Split into teams for these, and let the bride be the judge.

9. Toilet roll wedding dress

Give each team a few rolls of toilet paper and some sticky tape, and ten minutes to turn one of their team into a bride. The real bride picks the winner. It’s silly, it’s cheap, and it makes for brilliant photos.

10. Bridal pictionary

Write wedding words on slips of paper, such as “first dance”, “bouquet” or “honeymoon”, and take turns drawing them for your team to guess against the clock. No letters or numbers allowed.

11. Lip sync battle

Each hen picks a song and gives it everything for one minute, props and dance moves included. The group votes for the best performance. Themed rounds, like Disney songs or 90s pop, make it even better.

12. Night out scavenger hunt

Before you head out, split into teams with a list of challenges, each worth points: get a stranger to give the bride marriage advice, get the DJ to play her favourite song, find something old, new, borrowed and blue. Photos or videos count as proof, and the team with the most points by last orders wins. Printable: the scavenger hunt sheet is in the planner.

Drinking games: games 13 to 17

Every one of these works just as well with soft drinks or water, so nobody has to miss out.

13. Never have I ever

Take turns reading a card aloud, such as “Never have I ever sent a text to the wrong person.” Anyone who has done it takes a sip. For extra laughs, the bride has to answer every card. Printable: twenty-four cut-out cards are in the planner.

14. Prosecco pong

Beer pong with a hen party twist. Set up two triangles of cups at opposite ends of a table, pour a little prosecco into each, and take turns throwing a ping pong ball into the other team’s cups. Land one, and the other team drinks it.

15. Flip cup

Two teams line up along a table, each hen with a cup. On “go”, the first in each line drinks, then flips her empty cup from the table edge until it lands upside down, before the next hen can start. The first team to finish wins.

16. Drink if

One person reads out statements, and anyone they apply to takes a sip: drink if you’ve ever been on a blind date, drink if you’ve cried at a wedding, drink if you’ve met the groom’s ex. Keep the list tame or cheeky to suit the group.

17. Truth or drink

A softer take on truth or dare. Take turns asking each other questions, and anyone who would rather not answer takes a sip instead. Agree the ground rules first, so nobody feels put on the spot.

Games to play with your butler: games 18 to 25

If you’ve booked a butler in the buff, he’ll arrive with games and run them for you, so the organiser can relax. These are some of the favourites our butlers play. Think of them as a menu, not a script: everything is tailored to your group, anyone can sit a game out, and the bride can veto anything on the night.

18. Guess the butler’s age

The group gets three questions to work out how old your butler is, with no maths allowed. Then everyone whispers their guess in his ear. Wrong guesses take a shot, and anyone who gets it right hands one out.

19. Find the plaster

One hen is blindfolded while her partner sticks a plaster somewhere on your butler. She has 60 seconds to find it, using only her hands. Then they swap roles. Expect a lot of screaming.

20. Pass the cucumber

Two teams line up and pass a cucumber down the line from knees to knees, with no hands allowed. Drop it, and it goes back to the start. Your butler referees, strictly.

21. The balloon pop race

Teams race to pop their balloons by squeezing each one between two people, in a different cheeky pose each time, with no hands allowed. Your butler joins one team or teams up with the bride.

22. Dirty little secret

Everyone except the bride writes down a secret and hands it to your butler, who reads them out one by one. The bride has to guess whose is whose. It gets the biggest laughs of the night, every time.

23. Cheeky charades

Teams act out cheeky phrases against the clock while your butler keeps score and adds his own commentary. Tell us the vibe when you book, and he’ll pitch the phrases to suit the room.

24. Poker face

Two hens down a shot at the same time, one water and one vodka, both keeping a straight face. The group has to guess who got the vodka.

25. Body shots

The classic finale, for volunteers only, served by your butler. They need very little explaining, and they make the best photo of the weekend.

Tips for a great games night

  • Print and prep the day before. Cut out the cards, sharpen the pencils and put everything in one bag.
  • Know your audience. If mums, grans or new colleagues are coming, start with the gentler games and check the bride’s off-limits list first.
  • Keep the prizes small. Sweets, a mini bottle of fizz or first pick of the cocktails is plenty.
  • Pace the drinks. Alternate with water, and swap sips for points whenever anyone wants. The NHS has a handy guide to alcohol units.
