York packs a whole hen weekend inside the city walls, and a butler in the buff is the easiest way to start it properly. He meets the group at the house, gets a drink in everyone’s hand and runs the games, so the afternoon has a shape before anyone heads out.
We have worked parties from Micklegate townhouses to apartments a minute off the Shambles since 2022, and nothing in York is more than a short walk away. Booking a butler in the buff in York starts from £170 for two hours.
“Jacob attended York for a hen party. Great entertainment throughout the cocktail making. Made us all feel at ease and entertained while drinking our cocktails! Thankyou”
“I would highly recommend Butlerdirect! 18 girls from Manchester, went to york for a hen weekend and Kiru started the night off for us with a bang.”
“Jacob was extremely professional and pitched the whole evening to suit everyone at my daughter’s hen weekend. Our ages ranged from late twenties to mid sixties.”

BOOK a buff butler in YORK from the best IN THE BUSINESS
Butler Direct supplies an experienced, professional and genuinely charming butler in the buff across York and North Yorkshire. York hen weekends tend to follow a pattern — a townhouse somewhere inside the walls, an afternoon that starts slowly, then the Micklegate run once it gets dark. Our butlers take over the middle of that: drinks poured, games run, everyone photographed and warmed up well before you head out.
We’re a Leeds business, half an hour down the A64, so York is home turf — and we can usually cover the last-minute Saturdays that national agencies turn down.

Your questions about York
How much does it cost to hire a butler in the buff in York?
Hiring a butler in the buff starts from £170 for two hours. Cocktail masterclasses start from £25 per person and life drawing classes from £17.50 per person, and we will put a package together if you want more than one.
How far in advance should I book?
Most York groups book six to twelve weeks ahead. Saturdays between April and June go first, so if your date is fixed it is worth getting in early. We can often help at shorter notice too, so it is always worth asking.
Which parts of York do you cover?
All of it — the city centre inside the walls, Micklegate, the Shambles, Bishopthorpe Road and the riverside apartments. Whether you are in an apartment, a hotel suite or a rented house, we come to you.
What does a butler in the buff actually do?
He arrives in collar, cuffs and bow tie, greets your group, serves the drinks, runs the games and keeps the food and the party moving so nobody in the group has to host. You set the tone and he reads the room.
Does a butler work for a York city-centre stay?
Very much so. Most York hen dos are based in a self-catering house inside the walls, and that is the ideal setting — he hosts the pre-drinks before you head out onto Micklegate.
Is there a minimum group size?
No. We cover everything from a handful of friends to large hen parties, and Butler Direct has been running since 2022.
We also cover Leeds · Manchester · Newcastle · the Lake District — and the rest of the UK. See every area.
