How Much Does a Buff Butler Cost? (2026 UK Price Guide)

Short answer: from £170 for two hours. Longer answer below, including what groups actually end up paying.

Most pages that promise a price guide don’t contain a price. You scroll, you read four paragraphs about creating memories, and at the bottom there’s a contact form. We’ve done the opposite here: our full price list is in the first section, and after that we’ve opened up our own booking records so you can see what people in your position actually paid.

We’ve been running these parties since 2022, and this guide is built on our own booking records across that time. Where we quote an outside figure, it’s linked, and it isn’t from a competitor.

Our prices

These are starting prices. Per-person rates are our best rate, which larger groups reach most easily — smaller groups are absolutely fine, they just cost more per head.

What people actually pay

Starting prices only tell you the floor. Here’s the middle. These are median booking totals from our own records — the midpoint, so half of all groups paid less than the figure shown and half paid more.

Median total paid per booking, Butler Direct records, October 2022 to September 2026. Medians rather than averages, so a handful of very large jobs don’t distort the picture.
ServiceMedian total paid
Butler service£180
Cocktail masterclass£480
Life drawing£225
Stripper£180
The Artistic Package£600
The Late Night Package£695
The Ultimate Package£868
Every booking£240

Two things worth pulling out of that table.

The first is that the typical booking is £240 for the whole group, not per person. Split across a hen party, that is a modest line in anyone’s budget — and for context, Bridebook’s 2026 survey of around 7,000 couples put the average UK wedding at £20,604. The entertainment for the send-off is rounding error against the day itself.

The second is that cocktail masterclasses cost noticeably more than butler service — a £480 median against £180. That isn’t a markup. A masterclass means spirits, mixers, glassware, shakers and two hours of someone teaching rather than serving. If your budget is tight, butler service is the cheaper way in.

When Britain books — and when it doesn’t

This is the section that can genuinely save you money, and nobody publishes it because it means admitting when you’re quiet.

Bookings by month

Share of all completed Butler Direct bookings falling in each month, October 2022 to September 2026.

May is our busiest month at 14.5% of bookings. January is quietest at 2.4%. March to July accounts for 61.5% of the year.

Hen do season is real and it is narrow. Nearly two thirds of everything we do happens between March and July. If your date falls in that window, the useful advice isn’t “book early” as a platitude — it’s that May Saturdays go months ahead, and the good staff go first.

The flip side is that October through February is wide open. If the date is genuinely flexible, an autumn or winter party gets you more choice of butler and more room to negotiate on a bespoke package.

The Saturday problem

69%

of all our bookings are on a Saturday. Another 21% are Friday. That leaves roughly one booking in ten spread across the entire rest of the week.

This is the single biggest constraint on hen party planning and almost nobody accounts for it. Every supplier you’re trying to book — venue, restaurant, activity, us — is competing for the same handful of Saturdays in the same five months.

If your group can do a Friday, you have already sidestepped most of the problem. If you can do a Thursday or a Sunday, you are effectively booking into an empty diary: those two days together account for under 8% of our year. Availability is better, and there is far more scope to build the day around what you actually want rather than what’s left.

How it compares to a night out

Worth doing the arithmetic before you book anything, because the answer surprises people.

The average pint in the UK now costs £5.34, up 3.3% in a year, according to the Morning Advertiser’s May 2026 trade survey. In London, branded lagers run to £7.03 and £7.60 a pint. Cocktails sit well above that in most city-centre bars.

So take a hen party of twelve. Three or four drinks each across an evening, at city-centre prices, and you are comfortably at £30 to £50 a head on drinks alone — before entry, before food, before taxis. You will spend a meaningful chunk of the night queuing, and you will probably lose your table at some point.

Set that against a cocktail masterclass at a £480 median. Split twelve ways that’s £40 each, and it covers the glassware, the shakers, every ingredient, the alcohol and two hours of someone running the session in a private space. You end up with roughly the same spend per head — except you’ve done an activity, nobody queued, and the drinks were made by your own group rather than poured by a stranger.

You also keep control of the evening. Nobody’s turning you away for being too loud, there’s no last entry, and the night doesn’t end because a venue decided the hen party section closes at nine.

What changes your price

  • How many butlers. One working the room, or two for a bigger group.
  • How long you want them. Two hours of serving, or a full evening with games and an activity.
  • What you want them doing. Serving drinks and running games is the cheapest option. A cocktail masterclass carries the cost of the spirits and the kit. Adding a performer costs more again.
  • Group size. Per-person rates are keenest on larger groups, which is why the packages start at £38 and £48 a head rather than a flat fee.
  • Your date. A May Saturday and a November Thursday are not the same booking, for us or for anybody else.

Six ways to pay less

  1. Move off Saturday if you possibly can. Given 69% of demand lands on one day, this is the lever with the most give in it.
  2. Avoid May. Or March, April, June and July. October to February is a different market.
  3. Split the cost across the group. Most hen parties divide the fee between everyone attending, which turns a £240 booking into £20 a head across twelve.
  4. Bundle rather than stack. A package is better value than booking a butler in the buff and a cocktail class as two separate things on the same day.
  5. Get your numbers up. Per-person pricing rewards bigger groups. Two smaller parties on the same weekend cost more between them than one larger one.
  6. Book the peak months early. Not to save money directly, but because late bookings in season mean choosing from whoever’s left rather than who you wanted.

What’s included

Our pricing is meant to be readable, with nothing sprung on you afterwards. Every booking includes:

  • Your butler in the buff for the session
  • All cocktail glassware, shakers and equipment
  • Every ingredient, including the alcohol
  • Extra shot games throughout
  • All life drawing materials, where that’s part of what you’ve booked

Anything beyond the standard booking — extra time, an extra butler in the buff, a bolt-on activity — is quoted before you commit, never after.

Where we work

We’re based in Leeds and work across the whole of the UK. Our records show parties delivered in 71 different postcode areas so far, from the Scottish central belt down to London and across to the Welsh coast.

York is our single busiest destination, ahead of Chester, Leeds and Manchester. We have dedicated pages for Leeds, York, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bath, Bristol, the Lake District, North Wales and Anglesey — and if your party is somewhere that isn’t on that list, ask anyway. We travel, and we have done since 2022.

It doesn’t need to be a hen do, either. We work birthdays, baby showers, divorce parties and plenty of occasions that don’t have a name yet.

How we worked this out

The Butler Direct figures come from our own booking records covering October 2022 to September 2026. We’ve used medians rather than averages throughout, because a small number of large jobs would otherwise pull the numbers upward and make our typical booking look dearer than it is. Seasonality and day-of-week figures are shares of all completed events across that period. No customer information of any kind is included, and the figures are given as medians and percentages rather than counts.
